Strong start from Crawley Athletic Club in the Sussex Cross Country League
Crawley Athletic Club had a strong performance at the first fixture of the Sussex Cross Country League, held in mostly sunny conditions at Goodwood.
In the Senior races the women were first (Amelia Cox), second (Stephanie Shaw) and third (Frankie Clayton) across the finish line, with their fourth scorer (Sharon Gordon) 12th they were convincing team winners too. The men's team were fourth and there were strong performances from Kierna Barnes (2nd) and Josh Hobbs (6th).
The U17 Men's team were winners with great running from Luke Newton (3rd), Sam Sprostranov (6th) and Max Webb (12th). The U17 Women, who were competing in the senior race, were also team winners with more strong performances from Stephanie Shaw (1st), Lauren Wormley (4th) and Charlotte Wormley (9th).
Earlier on, the U15 Girls team, Rihanon Daniels (2nd), Alice Cox (3rd) and Niamh Lesova (12th), were also winners. The U15 Boys team, Alex Ballard (8th), Samuel Davis (13th) and John Clayton (15th) were third. The U13 Girls team, Bibi Web (3rd), Amelie Whitehouse (5th) and Renee Daniels (12th) finished second, unfortunately the U13 Boys, Rafael Selby (10th) and Oliver Aylward (19th) didn't have a complete team and were in 10th place.The day had started with the U11s races and there was some great running from the girls; Belle Imhoff (7th), Belle McLaren (12th) and in the boys Alex Rutledge-Hart (13th)
